Studium Generale: LeTonya Clark about “How to Find Lifelong Joy in Your Career”

2. November 2022 // 18:00 Uhr // Auditorium DHBW Lörrach // US American Strategist, Executive Coach, Consultant, Professor and Speaker LeTonya Clark about “How to Find Lifelong Joy in Your Career”

Content and context:

One of the longest relationships all of us will ever have is the relationship we have with our career. It is estimated that we will spend an average of one third of our lives at work. For many reasons, one being the Covid-19 pandemic, our view on the importance of “what, why, and how” to work has undergone a seismic shift over the past few years. Nothing seems like it has been before and most of us think and rethink this relationship to which we have given, without being conscious of it, a large portion of our lives. This is true for men, but even more so for women.

We are asking, “What does work really mean to me?” “Am I passionate about this work?” “Is there room for personal growth?” Powerful, probing and potent questions that those of us from all generations – down to Gen Z - are asking ourselves.  Aren’t we all searching for the right answers? Searching for meaning, fulfillment, significance – in the end, joy? Finding joy in our daily life and our careers is one of our greatest aspirations as human beings.

In her talk, LeTonya Clark will discuss the silent “dis-ease” we can often feel as we plan and pursue our careers and what causes it, and how we can look inside of ourselves to find the joy we have been seeking in this significant relationship. She will especially address different perceptions of women and men.

At the end of our time together, we will have strategies we can immediately apply to our professional journey.
